Hello. 👋 I’m Greg. Philadelphia 🦅 based designer 💻 & illustrator. ✏️ Let’s work together! 🤑
When the team at Good Mythical Morning reached out about redesigning their iconic mark, I literally jumped out of my chair! The project came full circle when Jimmy Fallon unveiled the new logo on The Tonight Show, which was an absolutely surreal moment. One of those once-in-a-lifetime collaborations that reminds you why you love what you do.
With the trust of Larry McGearty I helped build the Sweet Gwendoline French Gin brand from the ground up alongside him and his team. From bottle shape to die-cut peephole (buy a bottle and see for yourself!) I got my hands in everything on this project. A true multi-year labor of love.
I collaborated with the team at HUB San Francisco to craft the logo, brand identity and other assets for TractManager now part of symplr, a healthcare technology company focused on helping organizations operate more efficiently. The visual system we developed reflects precision, connection, and trust. Qualities essential to the brand’s mission of simplifying complex healthcare operations.
While working at 160over90 I had the pleasure of creating a custom typeface for Ferrari using sharp angles to showcase the aggression and speed of the car, while also highlighting their beauty and sophistication with delicate lines and flourishes.
Blackfynn was a med-tech org that produced more effective research and development of personalized medicines, devices and clinical interventions. I helped them develop an icon and illustration system that aligned with their established logo.
The Carl F Lauber & Co Spirits brand is bringing back whiskies last available in Philadelphia over a century ago. I helped them with custom type and label design. Much thanks to Sam Heimer for the trust on this project. Cheers to not forgetting!
I got my start in design doing gig-posters for local bands and my own bands. It’s something I hold very dear to me and still, to this day, love making. Got a show or event coming up? Let’s make something for it!
Helped the team at Flotsam & Jetsam develop the Kikisi Coffe Liqueur packaging for total wine. The little whistlin’ bird was a joy to create and adds a ton of personality to a delicious coffee brand.
I was approached by the team at Good Grief to help them bring their brand to life (pun intended). They had some really stellar copy and wit about them that it made collaborating on the brand a joy. I believe they are doing some really important work in the world.
For the past 11+ years I’ve helped (along with an amazing team) develop the internal brand at articulate, The #1 e‑learning platform for creating workplace training. I get into almost everything from internal retreats, brand marketing, UI, accessibility kits, icon design and so much more! Here’s some of the more fun projects I’ve had my hands in.
Here’s a selection of logo work I’ve created throughout the years. There’s something about simplifying a brand to a single mark that is such a fun challenge to me. If you’re planning a logo or brand project, I’d love to collaborate!
Readers used to write in to Popular Mechanics with their off-the-wall questions, and I got to do a spot illustration to match them. I had loved Popular Mechanics since I was a kid, so this was a dream client. Also, how often did you get to draw a stoned avocado watching TV?
Here’s some merch design from over the years. As someone who wears a band shirt almost every day I can’t help but find myself wanting to make them. Let me design a shirt for you!
Slingshot Dakota is a two-piece band from Bethlehem, PA that I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with on a wide range of projects. From record covers and gig posters to merch design, we’ve created a lot of exciting work together. Plus, they are just genuinely lovely human beings!
While working at Gyro Worldwide (now QCM) I was the Art Director on Sailor Jerry Rum. Getting to run photoshoots and manage multiple campaigns as well as production work. I really cut my teeth on this brand and learned a lot from my CD’s.
I love Philadelphia, so working on Pop Up Pools – a Knight Foundation–funded project by Ben Bryant to transform a worn public pool into a vibrant community space was an honor. I created the logo, branding, copy, and signage to help set the tone. (Bonus: I even got a photo with former Mayor Nutter!)
At 160over90 I worked with a team to develop an advertising campaign to reinvigorate and re-energize the 100 year old AAA brand. How cool is it that Jim Gaffigan did the voice-overs for our commercials?
As the storyboard artist and icon illustrator, I played a pivotal role in an internal Google video project, where I conceptualized key scenes and developed a cohesive visual language for the project. (password protected)
I worked with my former creative director Tim O'Donnell on the book Geek Parenting written by Stephen H. Segal and Valya Dudycz Lupescu. As a geek myself, I had to sneak in a RoboCop illustration (or two).
Helped the team at Flotsam & Jetsam develop storyboards and key art pieces for the Ancho Reyes brand with a heavy focus on collage design as well as floral patterns. We even hired out a culinary sculptor to help bring some of this to! Fun project that sadly never saw the light of day, so it lives here. (password protected)
Icons are tiny storytellers. There's something so rewarding about breaking down shapes to create a simple recognizable object. From client projects to personal experiments here's a showcase of some of the lil' ones I've made.
